Recently, our Year 6 students came together with families, teachers and school leaders to mark a proud milestone in their Léman journey: the Year 6 Celebration of Success.

Carefully arranged and prepared by the Year 6 teaching team, Mrs. England, Mr. McAllister and Ms. Wendy, the event celebrated the students’ achievements, talents and personal growth as they prepare to take their next steps into Secondary School.

The celebration opened with a reflective video created in collaboration with the whole Year 6 cohort. Students looked back at who they were when they first joined Léman, reflected on who they are today, and shared their hopes for the future, including the careers and aspirations they are beginning to imagine for themselves. It was a thoughtful and moving start to an afternoon centred on growth, identity and possibility.

Our student MCs then guided the audience through a varied programme of performances, speeches and special moments. From the beginning, the atmosphere was filled with pride and excitement as families watched the students reflect on their Primary years and look ahead to the future.

Throughout the ceremony, the Year 6 students showcased an impressive range of talents. The programme included confident speeches, a beautiful piano performance, drama scenes from their production, group songs, dance performances and a final whole-year performance. Each part of the afternoon reflected the creativity, humour, courage and individuality of this memorable year group.

One of the most striking aspects of the event was the way the students took ownership of the celebration. They performed with confidence, spoke with maturity and supported one another with warmth and encouragement. This was more than a graduation ceremony; it was a celebration of who they have become as learners, friends, performers, leaders and young people.

Mrs. England and Mr. McAllister shared a Year 6 teacher speech, reflecting on the students’ growth, character and many memorable moments from the year. Their words captured the humour, resilience, creativity and individuality of the cohort, while celebrating how far the students have come during their Primary journey.

The ceremony also included a meaningful handover from our Primary Head to our Secondary Head, symbolising the students’ transition from Primary into the next stage of their education. This moment honoured the experiences, relationships and memories that have shaped their Primary journey, while also looking ahead to the opportunities waiting for them in Secondary School.

Students were recognised with individual certificates celebrating their strengths, achievements and contributions to the school community. These moments reflected the heart of Primary education: academic progress matters, but so too do kindness, resilience, creativity, confidence, friendship and character. Each certificate offered a personal reminder that every child has brought something valuable and distinctive to the year group.

The LFA generously provided parting gifts for our Year 6 students, adding a thoughtful and memorable touch to the occasion. These gifts helped mark the end of their Primary years and gave students a special reminder of their time at Léman.

Following the formal ceremony, the celebration continued at the water park, kindly organised by the LFA. This gave students, families, friends and teachers the chance to relax, celebrate together and enjoy time as a community after such a significant afternoon.

The celebration also included an exhibition of the students’ end-of-year artwork. These pieces were the result of real introspection and reflection, as students considered their journey so far, the experiences that have shaped them, and who they are today as a result. Together, the video and artwork gave families a meaningful insight into the students’ personal growth, identity and aspirations at this important transition point.

This year, our Year 6 students have shown determination, creativity and courage across many areas of school life. They have thrown themselves into performances, developed thoughtful Passion Projects, grown as learners in the classroom, taken on leadership opportunities and supported one another through the challenges and successes of the year. Their Celebration of Success captured this journey beautifully.

We would like to thank our Year 6 families, the LFA and school leadership for their generous support in helping to make the celebration so special. Their time, care and encouragement helped create a memorable experience for the children as they celebrated the end of their Primary journey.

Congratulations to the Year 6 Class of 2026. We are incredibly proud of the young people they are becoming and look forward to seeing them continue to grow, lead and thrive in Secondary School.
