Having navigated the complexities of living and teaching across six different countries over the past 18 years, Rachael brings cultural sensitivity and a rich understanding of international life to her Psychology teaching, sparking a genuine, real-world connection in her students' learning. With a strong background in educational leadership, supported by her NPQML and experience as an EDIB lead, she is committed to fostering inclusive, positive learning environments where student wellbeing is a priority and every individual feels valued.
She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health and Wellbeing in Education, a PGCE, and a BSc (Hons) in Experimental Psychology from Durham University. Drawing on this academic background, Rachael employs metacognition strategies and the practical application of positive psychology to help students understand how to thrive and flourish both inside and outside the classroom. Furthermore, as an international educator and parent, she is deeply invested in supporting Third Culture Kids (TCKs) through the emotional and practical complexities of global transitions.
Outside of the classroom, Rachael enjoys a mix of active and creative hobbies. She keeps fit through swimming, cycling, and weightlifting, but is equally happy getting lost in a good book, writing poetry, or participating in local theatre productions. Relocating to Vietnam with her large family, Rachael is looking forward to travelling around Southeast Asia, exploring the local culinary scene, and hunting for the best shopping spots in Hanoi
