Gemma then pursued a role in an international Primary school in Malaysia to teach for a further three years as class teacher and held a middle leadership role as the Primary Assistant SENCO. From this, she has gained significant experience in inclusive practice, alongside current professional development from both International and British associations.

In 2022, Gemma moved to Singapore and has been working at Dover Court International School for the last four years. Whilst working at Dover Court, Gemma graduated with a Post Graduate degree in Inclusive Practice with the University of Aberdeen. She further developed her studies with the University of Aberdeen, by completing a Post Graduate qualification in Autism and Learning in 2023. Through these studies, Gemma has developed a wide range of practical strategies to support diverse learners in the classroom. This includes adapting teaching approaches, using visual supports, promoting social-emotional learning, and creating calm, structured spaces where every child can thrive.

In August 2025, Gemma welcomed her first baby, Lachlan and returned to school as the 4A Class Teacher in November. She values strong partnerships between home and school and is committed to working collaboratively with families to support student wellbeing and progress.

Gemma comes from a dance and musical theatre background and has enjoyed coordinating and leading various school productions, as well as dance and performing arts ECAs. She enjoys sharing her passion with her students and believes that drama and music can be an excellent avenue for self-expression.   This year, Gemma played an active role in teaching the Year 6 musical choreography.

In her spare time, Gemma enjoys traveling and exploring new sights. She appreciates learning about new cultures, exploring historical locations, and trying a range of international cuisine.
