In March, 7 of our brilliant mathematicians in Years 9,10 and 11 took part in the UKMT Cayley, Hamilton and Maclaurin Mathematical Olympiads. These are incredibly challenging competitions that not only test students' problem-solving abilities but also require a flair for mathematical reasoning and communication.
Recently, the Mathematics department was delighted to receive the results of this event. We would like to congratulate Abeer K (Year 11) for achieving a Certificate of Merit.
We are pleased to announce that Year 11 student Qi Xin (Simon) not only achieved the top award, the Certificate of Distinction, but also received a Gold Medal. This means that Simon was one of the Top 20 scoring students worldwide of the thousands who competed. Incredible work Simon!
Well done to all who took part! You can view the papers on the UKMT website.
We are looking forward to all upcoming mathematics events this academic year, starting with the Senior Maths Challenge in October.
