The Art of Colour: Exploring Creativity in Pre-Nursery

Our Pre-Nursery children have been busy exploring the wonderful world of art during our special Art Week, with a focus on colour, creativity and self-expression.
Throughout the week, the children have enjoyed a range of hands-on, sensory experiences, experimenting with different materials, textures and techniques. Colour mixing has been a particular focus, with children discovering how new colours can be created by combining paints. These playful investigations have encouraged curiosity, exploration and an understanding of cause and effect.

A key feature of our week has been process art, where the emphasis is on the experience of creating rather than the finished product. Children have explored printing, painting and mark-making, discovering the different effects they can produce through their own choices and actions.
We have also embraced movement art, using our whole bodies to create marks and patterns. Working collaboratively on a large-scale autumn-inspired artwork, the children have used their footprints to explore colour, movement and creativity together.

Above all, Art Week has celebrated the joy of experimenting, making discoveries and expressing ourselves, with every child encouraged to explore and create in their own unique way.
