Bethany is from Liverpool, UK and has been teaching mathematics there for five years. She studied in Nottingham for her BSc in Mathematics and Sport Science and PhD in Bioinformatics. To Bethany, being a teacher is about ensuring her students always feel safe, happy and challenged. She knows not everybody sees themselves as a mathematician, and believes it's her job to help them to. Seeing progress being made by students, no matter their ability, is what Bethany loves most about her job. Outside of work she loves watching sport, listening to live music (more recently country music since visiting Nashville), and is so excited to continue exploring different parts of the US whilst living and working in her favorite city.
