BISB Students Achieve Top Honours in Prestigious KöMaL Physics Competition - BISB Students Achieve Top Honours in Prestigious Physics Competition
We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Martin and Tamas, who secured first and second place in the 2025–2026 KöMaL Physics Competition for their age group, proudly representing The British International School Budapest.

Founded in 1893, KöMaL is Hungary’s most prestigious mathematics and physics competition, renowned for inspiring generations of talented young scientists and problem-solvers. Martin and Tamas’ remarkable success is a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and passion for physics.

Reflecting on their achievement, the students shared: “We love physics and saw the competition as the ideal stepping stone to taking part in the International Physics Olympiad. We have always enjoyed problem-solving, and we think it’s good to understand how the world works. In truth, we believe our awards are reflections of the year’s work; we toiled for many months, and we're delighted that our work has been recognized. Indeed, we enjoyed it so much that we are competing again this year, and we would heartily recommend it to anyone at BISB who enjoys Physics.”

Their accomplishment places them in a long tradition of scientific excellence and reflects the curiosity, determination, and love of learning we encourage across our school community.

Congratulations to Martin and Tamas on this exceptional achievement!
